In addition to our many Book Groups, we offer a number of ongoing groups.
Practically Speaking English
This program is a chance for our non-English speaking population to come in and practice their skills in communicating in English. The group will be lead by an English speaker to encourage members to only participate in English. The group will meet Tuesday mornings from 10:00am to 11:00am. No registration necessary.
Join the Needlers a knitting group at the Swampscott Public Library. This group meets twice weekly, every Wednesday at 10:30am and Thursday at 1 pm. Knitters are welcome to attend either or both sessions. Crocheters are welcome to join our group. We make our own projects or items to be donated to charity. Members can be beginners or experts.
Enjoy chatting about local history and reminiscing about earlier times? Lou Gallo and his history buffs meet on the first Friday of the month at 10 am for an informal discussion of local history. Everyone is welcome!
Meetings: Friday, November 2nd & Friday, December 10th.
Come to the library on Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm to join other writers to share your work. It doesn’t matter if you are a novice writer, a writer with a work in progress or a writer with a completed project, all are welcome.
Hosted by Reference Librarian Janina Majeran, this writing group is open to all, no matter where you are in the process. Meetings are at 6:30 pm on Thursday, January 31st and Thursday, February 28th.
We’ve started a ukulele group at the library! We meet every Tuesday night at 6 pm, so come on down and jam with us! All levels welcome! We have a songbook started, but feel free to bring a copy of any music with both the lyrics and chords you’d like to attempt. You must have a ukulele to participate! Any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
