Our Play Space is officially open for children from 0 to 6 years old. This space was funded through an LSTA (Library Services and Technology Act) Grant from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
The Room will generally open Monday through Wednesday at 11:00 a.m., Thursdays at 1:00 p.m., Fridays at 11:00 and Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. The Room will close 30 minutes before the Children’s Room closes.
We reserve the right to close the room if there is a program taking place.
We have set up a few rules to make the space function properly.
The room is designed with activities for infants through kindergarten age children. Older children should enjoy other areas of the library.
Adults are expected to be actively involved in their children’s play. If would like to visit with other parents, we encourage you to sit in the picture book area.
Please model and reinforce appropriate library behavior – indoor voices, do not run or throw toys, sharing, handling toys with care, and cleaning up when you are done playing.
Please NO CLIMBING on furniture, cabinets and railings or standing on outside of equipment.
All toys MUST stay in the room.
No food, drinks, sweets or chewing gum are to be taken into play areas.
